Meet Gregory Smith, Augusta Workers’ Compensation Lawyer
An Augusta native, attorney Gregory Smith grew up with a strong desire to serve the public, thanks to a father who is a retired physician and his mother who was a nurse. He brings that sense of duty and diligence to helping clients receive income and medical benefits through workers’ compensation claims.
“When an injured worker comes in and either the employer or the insurance company says, ‘We’re not paying,’ it’s always a great feeling to get involved in the case and get that person the money and medical treatment they deserve.” he said.
Gregory Smith majored in accounting at Augusta College, but he didn’t like crunching numbers as well as dealing with people. He obtained his law degree in 1991 from Mercer University’s Walter F. George School of Law in Macon. He worked as a personal injury lawyer in Macon before starting his own firm in 1993.
Gregory Smith Law focuses exclusively on workers’ compensation. Mr. Smith is a member of the State Bar of Georgia and the Augusta Bar Association, as well as Georgia Injured Workers’ Advocates (GIWA), a professional association of lawyers dedicated to representing injured workers fairly.
When not in court or at the office, Mr. Smith enjoys spending time with his wife, Holly, and their three children, particularly bicycling, fishing, and tending to endless projects around the house.
He’s proud to represent clients in his hometown and the surrounding area, providing individualized attention that a larger firm might not.
